The first (institutional) round of the International Open Internet-Olympiad in Mathematics will be conducted in the form of an on-line computer testing.
The first round of the Internet-Olympiad in Mathematics will be held in March 2010.
It is up to an educational institution to set the date and timing of testing. If necessary testing may be conducted at different days within the indicated period.
Test duration is 180 minutes, the test contains 16 tasks.
Testing time countdown will be individual for each student and start from the moment of his entering the testing system (by clicking "start testing"). Time wasted during transitions between the tasks is not counted.
Subject sections
The working group on tasks development has decided to include the following sections of Mathematics into the first round:
- Linear algebra
- Vector algebra
- Analytic geometry
- Introduction into analysis
- Differential calculus of the function of single variable
- Differential calculus of the function of several variables
- Integral calculus of the function of single variable
- Complex numbers
- Ordinary differential equations
- Numerical and power series
Logins and passwords, starting the test
To begin testing a student will need to go to tt.i-olymp.com and enter his personal login and password.
Logins and passwords will be available on HEI’s account after submitting and approving participant lists. It’s not possible to make any changes in the approved participant lists or replace absent students by other participants. However HEIs have an opportunity to submit additional participant lists and receive additional logins and passwords (after they are approved).
To avoid confusion while distributing logins and passwords among students we recommend that they get their logins and passwords printed on the individual pieces of paper.
You can use the “test monitor” (available on HEI’s account in the “ratings” section) to know if all of HEI’s students started the testing.
During testing
Every HEI-participant takes individual measures to maintain order in classes during testing. We recommend to observe the rules of conduct.
It is allowed to use methodological literature, calculators, laptops.
Getting the results, scoring
The results of the first round of the Internet-Olympiad in Mathematics are summed up for each HEI separately and are not available for other educational institutions. After the first round of the Internet-Olympiad a summary statistics will be published to allow comparison on a national and international basis.
The results of the Internet-Olympiad will be published on HEI’s personal accounts in the form of ratings. Ratings will indicate the number of correctly executed tasks and scores for each student-participant.
